BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) - The 6th annual Cory Joseph Wilson Fireball 40 Memorial Baseball Tournament on Wednesday at L. Scott Stell Park.

Each year the baseball tournament is held in honor of Cory Wilson. He passed away in January of 2013 while attending Georgia Southern University.

Wilson died from a heart arrhythmia. His parents are raising money to buy Automated External Defibrillators and placing them anywhere sports are played.

"It's really cool because a lot of the boys out here now are boys who actually played with Cory," said Wilson's mother Lisa. "So that's really fun for us to watch but then another piece that's really important for us is the boys who didn't know Cory that are playing for the cause and that is through Cory's foundation be able to increase cardiac education and awareness and donate AEDs to local businesses."

The tournament continues on Wednesday and is open to the public. It includes a category for adults as well as high school teams.
