The YMCA of Coastal Georgia gets ever-closer to completion of its newest regional facility, this one in Rincon.  The planned, new 30-thousand-square-foot facility will include a pool, along with both a youth and adult gym.  An important capital development campaign, needed to fund final completion, is now underway.  Our compliments to Coastal Georgia's YMCA for this great expansion of services and our thanks to those Effingham County residents who have so strongly supported this valuable community addition.

And finally this week, huge kudos to our Hunter-based soldiers who, despite having a whole lot on their plates right now, took the time last week to visit Savannah's East Broad Elementary School, to both read to the young students, and impress upon them the critical importance of reading.  While the soldiers consider this, and continuing visits, to be about thanking the students for their deployment support, clearly it's the teachers, parents and all residents of our region who should be thanking these soldiers, daily, for all that they are doing, for the rest of us, both overseas and right here at home.  All area members of our five service branches dedicate themselves to our continued safety and security, and by doing, make us incredibly proud. We join in heartfelt thanks for your tremendous service to our great nation.
