Hairstyle Suspension Update

Inger Bostick

We have an update to a story WTOC first brought you last week.

Inger Bostick, who works for the Chatham County Superior Court, has been on paid vacation because of a dispute over her hairstyle. She has worn her hair in a "twist" style for several months.

Recently, the county changed its personal grooming policy, banning dreadlocks and twists, but many employees were offended.

Today, the clerk of the superior court issued a statement, saying the grooming policy was designed to maintain the professionalism of the office.

Bostick will be able to wear twists, as long as the style is "maintained and neat," according to the statement.
