Bigfoot find exposed as one big hoax
ATLANTA, GA (WTOC) - Last week we told you two men from Georgia claimed to have found the body of the legendary Bigfoot. They even held a big news conference in California with what they called pictures and proof. See Does Bigfoot exist? Two Georgia men say, 'yes'
The good news, Bigfoot may still be alive. The bad news, last week's media frenzy about Bigfoot was all an elaborate hoax.
The fairy tale is over for the two men who brought in a Bigfoot expert, who apparently paid for the body to unveil proof Bigfoot exists.
It turns out, it was a Sasquatch Halloween costume after all, even the so-called expert was fooled, allegedly.
"I'll tell you this, what I seen, what I touched, what I felt, what I prodded, was not a mask that was sewn on a bear hide," Tom Biscardi, Bigfoot hunter, told reporters. "And what I smelled also."
Actually, it was a mask. What Tom Biscardi smelled was a rubber costume and a stinky scam.
Biscardi allegedly paid an undisclosed sum to Matt Whitton and Rick Dyer for the body. Further investigation and pictures of a defrosted Bigfoot, show it was a rubber suit after all. When the dust settled and ice thawed, experts say there were no other Bigfoot sightings in the woods of northern Georgia and the two Bigfoot hunters who claimed they found the body, have now vanished.
The true believers are a little upset.
"Those people are excited about the fact that finally they're going to be vindicated, and now we're not able to do that. That's that's just cruel," Bob Smalzbach, Searchingforbigfoot.com, told reporters. "Heart-wrenching. This we thought was an answer to a mystery that's been going on for far too long and, uhm, the best term I can use is that it was heartbreaking. Literally."
Tom Biscardi plans on taking action against the two guys from Atlanta who started the whole hoax, even though signs pointed to this being a bogus Bigfoot long before it was made public.
They took the hoax so far, they even submitted DNA samples last week. Apparently Bigfoot is part human, part possum.
Whitton and Dyer allegedly disappeared from a hotel in California after being asked by Biscardi to sign a letter admitting it was a hoax after Biscardi found out the whole Bigfoot find was bogus.
