Strong Storms Knock Out Power to Thousands in Coastal Empire

Thousands of people were without power after heavy storms pounded the Coastal Empire Sunday afternoon. Savannah Electric said lightning was responsible for knocking out power to 25-thousand customers. As of Sunday night, the company had restored service to nearly 20-thousand customers. Savannah electric says crews are working around the clock to restore power to all customers.

The storm also flooded streets, knocked out several traffic lights, and tore large tree limbs down.
