Double Homicide Update

This home in a quiet neighborhood was the scene of a double murder.

Beaufort County sheriff deputies found a couple dead at their Lady's Island residence early Saturday morning. Investigators are interviewing suspects and processing evidence, looking for clues that could lead them to the shooter.

Neighbors say the Newpoint subdivision on Lady's Island is a quiet neighborhood with little disruption, but early Saturday morning, this home at 10 Mises Road turned the neighborhood into a crime scene. Beaufort County police say 24-year-old Glenn Paul Jenkins of St. Helena Island was found dead inside the house, and 27-year-old Jerolyn Shaw's body was discovered in the roadway in front of the house. Officials say the couple had been staying at the home, owned by Shaw's parents, for the past few months. Both died of multiple gunshot wounds.

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Department is saying the homicides were a targeted situation, and say residents and neighbors are not in danger. However, this incident makes the third double homicide in the county this year.

The sheriff's department is saying that Jenkins did have a prior criminal record, but would not give us any more details.
