Celebrating 70 years of WTOC

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - For 70 years, WTOC has been your local TV station. WTOC was the first television station in Savannah to go on the air on February 14, 1954.

WTOC stands for “Welcome To Our City.” And from the very start, you have welcomed WTOC into your homes.

The names and faces you have embraced over the years, because WTOC has been as much a part of the community as the news it reports. We live here, we work here.

In the good times and the bad, It’s the stories, you have allowed us to tell over these past 70 years that has created a bond, making WTOC the most watched television station in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.
