Bulloch County inmate found unresponsive, pronounced dead

BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Bulloch County Sheriff’s office announced they found an unresponsive inmate early in the morning of Friday, Oct. 23.

Officials said the inmate’s cellmate found him unresponsive in the jail’s general population housing and contacted the control room. The inmate was then taken to the East Georgia Regional Medical Center Emergency Room; where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said the body will be transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s crime lab for an autopsy. Officials said the inmate’s identity will be withheld while police notify next of kin.
