MCINTOSH COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - The Georgia Department of Natural Resources confirms the Office of the Attorney General has retained Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates to conduct an independent investigation into the cause of the collapse of a gangway at the Marsh Landing Dock on Sapelo Island.

They say WJE is a firm of engineers, architects, and materials scientists specializing in the investigation, testing, and design of repairs for buildings, bridges, and other structures.

DNR has set up a section on their website about the incident and have been updating it with information as it comes in.
