Sneezing? Pollen season is back

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - If you have been sneezing more or had a stuffy nose lately or noticed a nice yellow coating on your car during the afternoon, it’s that time of the year again.

Here in the Southeastern United States, we see pollen season from as early as February through May on average. During that time, we look for the peak or worst of these conditions during late March into April.

In addition to this, there are certain types of weather conditions to look for that can make allergy symptoms worse. You’ll want to look out for dry and breezy conditions.

When the weather is dry, the pollen particles will have a looser grip on the vegetation. This, combined with higher wind speeds, causes much more pollen particles to flow freely through the air for us to breathe in.
