ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — An Atlanta-based rapper was arrested earlier this month after he allegedly pointed a gun at a Georgia State Patrol trooper.

Otis Williams, more commonly known as “OJ da Juiceman,” faces several charges, including aggravated assault upon a public safety officer, pointing or aiming a gun or pistol at another and an assortment of traffic violations.

On Jan. 30, a trooper said he was merging into the HOV lane on I-20 East in DeKalb County when a gray Nissan sedan sped up behind him, honking aggressively. The trooper moved over a lane, and as the Nissan drove past, the driver pointed a silver and black handgun at the officer, according to the Department of Public Safety report.

The trooper followed the car as it continued to drive erratically. When the driver noticed he was being followed, he allegedly pointed the gun at the trooper again before driving away.

A tag number search revealed the car had been rented out to Williams, according to the trooper. Greene County deputies arrested him on March 10 for the outstanding warrants, and he was transferred to the DeKalb County Jail six days later.

OJ da Juiceman last dropped a new album, “R&B Juice 2,” on March 6.
