Beach High School on lockdown after shots fired in nearby neighborhood

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Beach High School is on a precautionary lockdown Friday morning after shots were fired in a nearby neighborhood, according to the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System.

Shots were fired in the 800 block of West 45th Street near Cann Park at 8:20 a.m., according to Savannah Police. SPD said there are no known injuries at this time.

SCCPSS confirmed the shooting was not at the school.

WTOC crews on the scene saw officers and a K-9 searching Cann Park near Beach High School. Crews also saw the Savannah Police Department and SCCPSS Board of Education Police on the scene.
