Tradewinds Casino Boat certificate of inspection removed, Coast Guard to perform review of operations
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Officials with the Coast Guard in Savannah have removed the certificate of inspections belonging to Tradewinds Casino Boat after the Escapade ran aground again on Saturday.
According to Coast Guard Lieutenant Commander Rodney Wert, a review of operations is expected to take place on Monday to determine whether the cruises will continue for the company.
The casino boat was stranded for close to two hours according to those aboard. Drinks and food were served but no gambling was allowed during the cruise, or lack of one.
Around 12:30 p.m. the boat was able to return to the dock, smoke was seen coming from the boats engines but it was due to overheating according to officials with the Southside Fire Department.
Patrons of the boat exited with out harm and were refunded with boarding passes for another day. Many of those who left the Tradewinds Boat say they will be back for another go round.
The Coastguard also responded to the incident but once it was determined that everything was under control the officials left the scene.
